LAKHIMPUR: An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) took stock of the flood-damages visiting the flood-affected areas under Lakhimpur district on Wednesday. The team is comprised of Narendra Kumar, Director, Directorate of Jute Development, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India (Team Leader), Sanjay Kumar Singh, SE, CWC, Ministry of Hal Shakti and Albert Susngi, RO, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
Notably, the IMCT arrived in Lakhimpur on Tuesday and held a review meeting about the flood damages with Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and the departmental heads of the district in the evening. The Deputy Commissioner apprised the IMCT about the flood damages of the district through a power-point presentation. On the other hand, the members of the IMCT instructed the departmental heads of the district to submit the damage-reports with correct and to the point information.
On Wednesday, the team inspected the flood ravaged Hatilung, Joyhing, No, 1 Mohaijan, No, 2 Mohaijan, No, 3 Mohaijan, No, 4 Mohaijan, Hindu Adarsha Gaon under No, 111 Lakhimpur LAC, Dolohat, Panch-noi, Balitika, Phukan Doloni, Pandhowa under No. 110 Naoboicha LAC of the district and took stock of the flood affected embankments, guide bundhs, crop areas, fisheries, tanks etc. The team members further interacted with the flood-affected people of the Hindu Adarsha Gaon in a view to taking stock of the situation. During the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, ADC Manorama Morang, AC Ankita Borah, officers of the Water Resources, Irrigation, Agriculture, Fishery, Public Health & Engineering, Transport, Public Works (Roads), Public Relation and Information departments, Disaster Management Authority, Circle Officers of the North Lakhimpur and Naoboicha assisted the Inter-Ministerial Central Team.
