International Human Rights Day observed at Lakhimpur Commerce College

A meeting was organized by the Political Science Department of the college in active collaboration with the IQA Cell.

LAKHIMPUR: International Human Rights Day was observed on Saturday at Lakhimpur Commerce College. In this connection, a meeting was organized by the Political Science Department of the college in active collaboration with the IQA Cell. The meeting was chaired by Dr Lohit Hazarika, Principal of the college, in which the objective of the event was explained by Kuldeep Narayan Dutta, Assistant Professor, Political Science department of Lakhimpur Commerce College. Eminent columnist and Head of the Department of English, Lakhimpur Commerce College, Sazzad Hussain attended the meeting as appointed speaker. In his speech Professor Hussain spoke about awareness and intervention by the civil societies in human rights violations seen presently in form of mob lynching, moral policing and media justices. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Prof. RP Borah, Head of the Department of Political Science of the college.
