KOKRAJHAR: The department of Political Science at Bodoland University (BU) on Tuesday organized an awareness campaign for International Women's Day to recognize the contribution and relevance of women.

Prof. Sanghamitra Choudhury, HoD, the department of Political Science addressed the students on the significance of International Women's Day, stating that without the inclusion of half of the world's population, it is improbable that solutions for a sustainable planet and gender equality will be realized in the future. Women and girls bear the brunt of the climate disaster, as it exacerbates already-existing gender disparities and puts women's lives and livelihoods at risk. Choudhury said women worldwide are more reliant on natural resources than men but have less access to them and frequently bear a disproportionate share of the burden of providing food, water, and fuel.
