International Youth Day celebrated at Nagaon district library auditorium

Nagaon district administration, in association with State AIDS Control Society, observed the International Youth Day on Friday here at Nagaon district library auditorium.

NAGAON: Nagaon district administration, in association with State AIDS Control Society, observed the International Youth Day on Friday here at Nagaon district library auditorium.

State Health and Family Welfare minister Keshab Mahanta and State Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika graced the occasion and interacted with the youths. The minister duo also ceremonially inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by the district administration.

While addressing the youths' congregation, minister Hazarika said the youth power was one of the basic strengths of the nation, and a unique union as well as integration among all generations was needed to build a strong nation with equal development of all sections of people. He urged all the youths to come up with a vision for building a strong nation.

Health Minister Keshab Mahanta also spoke on the occasion and appealed to the new generation to engage in the service of nation building. Local MLA Rupak Sarma, Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Narendra Kumar Shah, Project Director of Assam State AIDS Control Society,Pomi Boruah, Executive Director of National Health Mission, Dr Monuj Chaudhury were also present in the programme.
