GOLAGHAT: Acting on specific inputs and complaints from various quarters, the officials of Food, Civil, Supply and Consumer Affairs Department of Golaghat sealed the Fair Price Shop (FPS) of Romen Gogoi at Jyotinagar, Bongaon in Golaghat recently.
During the investigation several irregularities were found in the fair price shop of Romen Gogoi. Allegedly, the fair price shop's agent did not display the price stock board contrary to the physical records of the FPS. Non-maintenance of stock register of NFSA rice, PMGKAY rice and other notified articles for the last six months was also observed. Further, he did not maintain sales register of NFSA and stock PMGKAY for the month of August was missing from the records of sales and Permit Book. Excess stock was detected in the FPS premises to the tune of 15 quintals after corroboration of sales records. Hence, the seizure case was instituted under the relevant provisions for violation of APDAO,1982 and TPDS Control Order, 2015.
