Jamugurihat girl Rupjyoti Saikia brings laurel in district level essay writing competition

Rupjyoti Saikia, a student of class 8 of Madhya Jamuguri High School brought laurels to Jamugurihat by securing first position in the district level essay writing competition in the category 'B'.

JAMUGURIHAT: Rupjyoti Saikia, a student of class 8 of Madhya Jamuguri High School brought laurels to Jamugurihat by securing first position in the district level essay writing competition in the category 'B'. The State government had organised an essay writing competition among the students on various topics relating to Lachit Barphukan in various categories. Deva Kumar Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur handed over her the certificate and a trophy in the closing ceremony held at Tezpur on Friday in presence of dignitaries. Rupjyoti Saikia is the daughter of Biren Saikia and Hemi Saikia, residents of Maranakuri here. A total of 1,29, 929 students from four education blocks under Sonitpur district including Gabharu, Balipara, Naduar and Dhekiajuli participated in the essay writing competition in the categories A, B, C and D.
