Dibrugarh: Janmashtami was celebrated with much fervour in Dibrugarh. Till the filing of this report, the celebrations were going on with much enthusiasm and devotion. The day, which marks the birth of Lord Shree Krishna, witnessed hordes of devotees visiting the prominent temples of the town to pay their obeisance and seek blessings of the God, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Different places of worship in the town, namely, Shree Sanwariya Temple, New Market, the legendary Radha-Krishan Mandir, Jalan Nagar and the ISKCON Temple, Chowkidinghee were thronged by devotees, and were duly decorated on the occasion. To mark the occasion, religious programmes, including Bhajan Kirtan, were scheduled for Friday evening in the temple premises.
