Jayanta Mallaboruah distributes Banikanta Kakoti Meritorious Award

NAGAON: Minister of Public Health and Engineering Jayanta Mallaboruah inaugurated ceremonial distribution programme of ‘Banikanta Kakoti Meritorious Award’ under Pragyan Bharati scheme which was sponsored by the State government among the meritorious students of Nagaon and Hojai district respectively at a function held at Nagaon Nehrubali field.

As part of the distribution of the award, the minister distributed scooties among eleven meritorious students who secured 75 percent and above in Higher Secondary Final Examination -2023.

A total of 2,891 students from Nagaon and 1540 students from Hojai have been qualified for the award. The programme was organized by the department of education, Government of Assam in association with the district administration.

Nagaon DC Narendra Kr Shah welcomed the guests and other dignitaries present in the programme. Local MLA Rupak Sarma, Raha MLA Sashi Kanta Das, Hojai District Commissioner Lasit Das, Munmoni Das Bora, president of Nagaon Zila Parishad, Ambika Mazumdar, chairman of Nagaon municipality board (NMB), Simanta Bora, vice chairman of NMB and others attended the programme.

While addressing the occasion, the minister said such recognition to those meritorious students will inspire them to serve the nation in the future.
