GUWAHATI: On Thursday, Abhishek Kumar Mandal's mortal remains has been transported to his home village of Bagodar in the Giridih district of Jharkhand. Abhishek Kumar Mandal was a student at IIT-Guwahati, where he was enrolled in a M. Tech. (civil engineering) program.
To receive the remains, the deceased's parents traveled to Guwahati.
The local headman, Pradeep Mahato, who was unaware of the cause of death, stated "We were unaware of what caused the death. The arrival of the body in the village is anxiously anticipated. Abhishek's parents and other family members, who traveled to Guwahati to pick up the body, were unable to ascertain the cause of death."
Abhishek Kumar Mandal, a native of Pochari village in the state's Bagodar region, was enrolled in IIT-Guwahati's MTech (civil engineering) program.
Abhishek and his three other pals, according to press reports, traveled to Mawkyrwat to visit the Od Ringai natural bridge. A tree root created the natural bridge. The tourist attraction is situated in Meghalaya's Mawten village, two kilometers from Mawkyrwat.
According to local media accounts, it was a possible drowning death. The body was fished out by divers on the scene, who then gave it to the authorities. Following the post-mortem, the Guwahati police gave the body to the deceased's family. Vinod Kumar Mandal, Abhishek's father, headed to Bagodar, Jharkhand, with his family and the remains.
When the news of Abhishek's death reached the community, a gloomy mood swept through it. Abhishek's family, neighbours, and well-wishers are in disbelief.
Following the discovery of a student's body at Assam University on March 14, everyone is in shock. The deceased was identified as Serching Tokbi of Karbi Anglong.
The body was discovered in his leased residence in Silchar's Irongmara. Tokbi was pursuing a master's in science while in her third semester of classes. An unconscious body was reportedly found in the student's room.
After being promptly transported to the hospital, the doctors proclaimed Tokbi dead, according to sources.
