A CORRESPONDENT
LAKHIMPUR: The prize distribution ceremony of the Jogen Tamuli Memorial Poetry Competition, organized by the Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), in association with the family of Late Jogen Tamuli, was held on Monday. This year, the first, second and third winners of the prestigious State-level competition (Upper Category) respectively are Dibyalakhi Senapati, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous), Dimpal Hazarika, B. Barooa College and Jayashree Neog, Hundique Girls' College. Keshab Chaw and Bibekananda Gogoi of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) have won the judges' special prize. On the other hand, the first, second and third winners of the lower category are Kankana Saikia, Khora HS School, Lipika Borah, Narayanpur HS School and Jigyasa Priyam Dutta, Brilliant Academy while Debojani Saikia of Resolution Academy has secured the judges' special prize.
The ceremonial programme commenced with Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa, HoD of Assamese, in the chair. Principal-in charge of the college, Ranjan Kumar Borah delivered the welcome address. In the same programme, a novel named 'Pohar Proyasi Pokhi', written by Akangkhya Tamuli, a student of the Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) was released by noted writer Dhanada Devi.
