Joint mock drill conducted by Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, NDRF

A joint mock exercise of Level-3 was conducted on Thursday at C2+ Recovery Unit of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Lakwa in coordination with 12th Battalion of NDRF.

DIBRUGARH: A joint mock exercise of Level-3 was conducted on Thursday at C2+ Recovery Unit of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Lakwa in coordination with 12th Battalion of NDRF.

The scenario of mock drill was earthquake followed by collapse of substation. Search and rescue operations were carried out using sophisticated tools and devices by NDRF personnel under the guidance of Ram Karan Swamy, Assistant Commandant, 12th Battalion NDRF. Temporary medical and relief camp was also established by the team of Model Hospital, Lakwa to provide immediate medical attention for the earthquake affected people. This offsite mock drill was conducted as per PNGRB guidelines in the presence of Bijoyalakshmi Gogoi, Deputy Controller, DDMA, Charaideo, GD Paul, Factory Inspector, Sibsagar & Charaideo, and others.

Fire and Rescue team from mutual aid member organizations like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Oil India Limited (OIL) Moran along with State Fire Service team and SDRF Team from Sonari also participated in the mock drill. Pradipta Dutta, OIC-BCPL, Lakwa stated that the purpose of this joint mock exercise was to prepare in case of any unwanted event and to act in minimum possible time to save valuable human lives with no damage to environment and surroundings.
