Jorhat : Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Resumes in Assam; Rahul Gandhi Embarks on Majuli Boat Ride

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is resuming his 67-day tour of 15 states along with party members

JORHAT : The Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday resumed its journey to Assam with a luxury boat ride to Majuli, the world's largest inhabited island. The charismatic leader was accompanied by prominent party figures including general secretary Jairam Ramesh, party president Bhupenkumar Borah and leader of opposition in the state assembly Debabrata Saikia. The journey started from Nimatighat in Jorhat district along the Brahmaputra River and reached Afalamukh Ghat in Majuli district. A special boat was arranged to transport the accompanying vehicles, to ensure the smooth continuation of the journey.

After reaching Afalamukh Ghat, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Kamalabari Chariali, where a visit to the revered Auniyati Satra, the center of Vaishnavism, is scheduled. The morning break at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Jengraimukh is passing through Garmur, with general secretary Jairam Ramesh and party MP Gaurav Gogoi among those accompanying Gandhi. The yatra will then take a bus to Dhakuakhana in North Lakhimpur district, culminating in a public meeting in the evening at Gogamukh.

As per the scheduled itinerary of the party, they are scheduled to rest for the night at Gogamukh Colony Stadium. This leg of the tour, which began in Manipur on February 14, was an extensive journey covering 6713 km in 67 days in 110 districts in 15 states, and ended in Mumbai on March 20 or 21. The journey in Assam covering a total of 833 km in 17 states , continuing until January 25th.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra aims to engage with people across sectors, address their concerns and encourage dialogue on pressing issues. As the tour continues, it serves as a platform for members of Congress to engage with citizens and build momentum to interact and look up for the challenges ahead on the national stage.
