STAFF CORRESPONDENT
DIBRUGARH: A special felicitation programme, organized by the district unit of the Journalists' Union of Assam (JUA) in association with the Tinsukia Marwari Sanmilan (TMS), concluded successfully at Manab Kalyan Prarthana Bhawan, Tinsukia recently. Ten newspaper agents and over 20 Hawkers of the district besides senior journalist of Tinsukia, Rupah Chaliha and Editor of Purbanchal Batori, Md. Hussain Khan and social activist, Sishu Bhaskar Hemanta Raj Moran were felicitated on the occasion.
Attending the meeting as chief guest, Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner Pawar Narasingha Shambhajee, in his speech appreciated the organizers for felicitating the backbone of the newspaper industry— newspaper agents and hawkers. Both the organizations JUA and TMS felicitated DC Shambhajee on the occasion.
The TMS also felicitated eight leading citizens of Tinsukia in the programme for their immense contribution towards the welfare of the people and society. Addressing the conference, president of Tinsukia Paper Agents Association, Bidhan Das stated that by felicitating the newspaper agents and Hawkers by JUA and TMS had not only inspired them to serve people more dedicatedly but also fillip their moral approach towards the society.
