GUWAHATI: Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan (retired) has completed her investigation and submitted the inquiry report to the Assam government regarding the tragic Mukroh incident. This one-member inquiry commission, appointed by the Assam governor on November 23 last year, was tasked with unraveling the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident that unfolded on November 22 in Mukroh, located under the jurisdiction of Zirikinding police station in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam.
The report submission took place on Wednesday, September 20, and marked a critical milestone in the quest for justice and accountability. The Mukroh incident, which transpired along the Assam-Meghalaya border on November 22 of the previous year, resulted in the untimely demise of five civilians and a home guard, sending shockwaves throughout the region.

Additionally, an Assam forest guard also lost their life in the course of these events.
