Kamrup District ranks 5th in Gunotsav, says Assam CM Sarma

RANGIA: Kamrup district has attained 5th position after Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat and Majuli in the Gunotsav held in the month of January, 2023, the result of which was declared by the Chief Minister of Assam.

A total of 2,129 schools covering 1,89,911 students of the district were evaluated through the Gunotsav-23. After self evaluation on the part of the school, the overall evaluation process was completed by 854 external evaluators with the help of 227 liasoning officers. The evaluation process was done on the basis of 90 percent in scholastic, 5 percent in co-scholastic and 5 percent in community participation. According to the result declared, 732 schools of the district has got A+, while in the Gunotsav-22, 344 schools of the district was able to attain A+. On the otherhand, 939 schools have got A grade against 924 in Gunotsav-22.

Moreover, the district has immensely improved its position by decreasing the number of B,C and D grade schools considerably. In Gunotsav-23, 221 schools got B grade, 33 schools got C grade and 14 schools got D grade. Earlier Gunotsav, the figure of B,C and D grade schools of the district was 603,231 and 101.

Meanwhile, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli congratulated the teachers, students, guardians and other stakeholders for attaining an improved position and hoped that with the collective efforts of all, the district could have every possibility and potentialities to attain top position in the coming Gunotsav. The Inspector of schools, Kamrup, Apurba Thakuria also expressed gratitude to teachers, students, guardians and stakeholders for contributing a lot towards attaining this performance and hoped that with the active co-operation of all, the district could have every possibility to attain higher rank in the coming Gunotsav.
