DONKAMUKAM: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang on Thursday rushed from Diphu to the flood-affected areas of Bithung Rengthama and Kopili MAC constituencies. He had an interaction with the victims who had camped on the embankment from Khandajan, Menmiji Kulai group, Phangtengphrang up to Taradubi in West Karbi Anglong. He also distributed emergency relief items such as rice and dal and cash of Rs 1,000 to the flood victims.

Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency is worst affected by flood caused by Kopili River due incessant rain. The CEM was accompanied by EM KAAC Amarsing Tisso, MAC Chandra Br Chetri, Veterinary Development Board chairman Ditolal Hasnu and other officials.

While speaking to the gathering, he assured of more help for flood victims. "I have apprised the Water Resources Minister about the condition of the flood-affected people so that monetary help can be provided to the victims and at the same time funds are sanctioned for repair of the embankment," the CEM said. He also assured that there would be no shortage of food materials for the flood victims. Meanwhile, water level of Kopili River is receding but the Hojai Tumpreng Donkamukam road remained cut off for the second day on Thursday.
