Karbi Anglong district police organized a three-day motivational & social awareness programme on superstition, lynching & hunting at Howraghat recently.

HOWRAGHAT: Karbi Anglong district police organized a three-day motivational & social awareness programme on superstition, lynching & hunting at Howraghat recently. National record holder Human Rights & social activist Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia said, "For a better society & the progress of human beings, peace is a full-time job."

SP Debojit Deuri appealed the local social worker, VDP personnel, village headman, Mahila Samiti & youth leaders to strictly maintain peace and tranquillity. Activist Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia further said that knowledge-based, life-oriented education is a must to stop superstition. "So Government must include new lessons in textbooks on witch hunt, lynching for real progress of the human society. At different places in Karbi Anglong district, volunteers from the social organization "Brothers" played a short street play. After the speech, activist Dr. Dibyajyoti Saikia interacted with the local social leaders, stated a press release.
