Bokajan: Amidst the rising number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State, the Karbi Anglong police, in collaboration of the Bokajan administration, have set up a dedicated 24×7 control room in Khatkhati to meet any exigency during the lockdown period. The control room will effectively answer queries and help citizens battle the corona pandemic.
The control room is aimed at keeping a close tab on the movement of persons with history of travel to corona hotspots and those who have been home quarantined in the district. Karbi Anglong Superintendent of Police Debojit Deori formally inaugurated the control room at Khatkhati Rains Inn Hotel in presence of Bokajan MLA-cum-BJP spoke person Dr Numal Momin, MAC Mukut Mahanta and Bokajan SDO Dilip Terang, among others.
People of the Bokajan subdivision can now contact the control room at 7099346091 and 9864648807 in case of any medical emergency or matters related to difficulties in accessing essential service and commodities. MLA Momin has already arranged passes under exempted category for patients who go for regular Haemodialysis to neighbouring Nagaland and have been facing difficulty due to the nationwide lockdown.
“People can report about quarantine violators and can also inform about persons who arrived in their locality from corona hotspots in the country and abroad,” Dr Momin said. “The Bokajan health department had quarantined a total of 721 people of which 553 have already completed the 14 days quarantine period.”
