Donkamukam: The Karbi Student Association (KSA) in a press meet held at Donkamukam DSA Conference Hall on Saturday demanded the cancellation of selected Grade III list in the Judicial department published on September 27, 2019, where all the ST (H) reserved posts were ‘likely to be filled up by unreserved candidates’.
“There were 35 vacant posts and from among them, 7 were for ST (H) category. But reserved post were likely to be filled up by unreserved candidates due to absence of candidates. As per the RSVP Act 2012, the post are exclusively for ST (H). In fact if there is no availability of reserved candidates, the appointing authority should advertise three times by obtaining prior concurrence from WPT&BC department.
Samson Teron, the president of the central committee, also strongly demanded before the Election Commissioner for extension of days for voter ID reverification particularly for the hills voters.
“I strongly demand for extension of days for voter verification because our area has network problem. Moreover, the supporting documents such as PAN or Aadhar cards are not available with the senior voters of remote areas.
As per notification the last date for verification is October 15, 2019. The Central Government is likely to introduce the Uniform Civil Code in the winter session of Parliament. The concept of one nation, one law and one language has been strongly opposed by the Karbi Student Association.
“If the Bill is passed then the existence of tribals in the country will be destroyed we demand roll back of the Bill,” said Teron.
