Karimganj/Hailakandi: Based on a specific input, Karimganj Police on Wednesday rescued a 23-year-old woman from the clutches of her alleged kidnappers while on Patrolling duty.
Reportedly, the woman had been missing since last Monday.
Following the incident, an FIR was lodged by the parents of the woman on last Monday stating that their daughter was kidnapped and she did not return home at Ujankupa village of Hailakandi district after 1 pm on September 17.
Speaking to media, O/C of Hailakandi Sadar police station Surajit Choudhury informed that the lady was rescued during the patrolling duty hours.
As per a media report, police at around 11 pm rescued the woman from the clutches of her alleged four accused kidnappers near Mubarakpur area of Karimganj district on National Highway 37 leading to Tripura.
OC Choudhury also mentioned that the accused were being interrogated and the investigations are on.
