SIVASAGAR: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) ONGC, Sivasagar organized a press conference on the 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on Thursday in the Vidyalaya premises.
The main objective of this press conference was to create awareness about the newly-launched National Education Policy - 2020 amongst teachers, students, officials, and other stakeholders in the Primary to Senior Secondary education system.
The press conference was chaired by Gurupad Talukdar, Principal KV Digaru, in presence of Vijay Shankar, in-charge Principal, KV ONGC Sivasagar, Murli Manohar, in-charge Principal KV Nazira, and others.
KV ONGC Sivasagar has reviewed and updated its curricula for primary to senior secondary section. During these revisions, NEP 2020 has been kept in view and its visions incorporated into the programmess as appropriate in the context of education. The NEP also includes the addition of 35 million seats in higher education institutions, addressing the increasing demand for quality education. This policy envisages that the extant 10+2 structure in school education will be modified with a new pedagogical and curricular restructuring of 5+3+3+4 covering ages 3-18.
In-charge Principal, Vijay Shankar said that some of the major strategies related to the Nipun Bharat, Vidya Parvesh, Jadui Pitara, Digital Learning Achievements, Diksha and FLN initiatives have already been taken up by KV ONGC Sivasagar. NIPUN Bharat is based on achieving foundational literacy and numeracy among children that is the ability to read and understand simple text and do simple arithmetic by the end of class three. ‘Vidya Pravesh’ module is essentially around 12 weeks of developmentally appropriate instruction for the children entering Grade I to booster a child’s pre-literacy, pre-numeracy, cognitive and social skills. Jadui Pitara is a play-based learning teaching material tailored for children between the age group of 3 to 8 years.
The activities like Developmental Goal-wise Activities, Developmental goal wise learning outcomes from preschool to grade three need to be covered for developing FLN resources, DIKSHA houses digital resources such as Info graphics, Worksheets, Assessment Sheets, Byte size videos and gamified assessment and learning content for FLN, digital learning, storytelling , puzzles, puppets, posters, flashcards, worksheets and attractive books, poster building GAME, experiential learning etc. were highlighted during the session.
