BONGAIGAON: Koch-Rajbanshi Sangram Samiti (KRSS) had declared an agitation schedule for the coming days. In a press meet held on Thursday, Atul Ray, president of KRSS, said that both the Central and State governments were playing with the sentiments of Koch-Rajbanshi people.
"They assured us several times for ST categorization of Koch-Rajbanshi people but nothing has been done yet. We also demand for formation of Koch-Rajbanshi autonomous council immediately. For these demands, in the first part of August we will submit memorandum to the State and Central governments. We will stage protest programme on August 31 and in the first week of October we will organize a national convention at Bongaigaon," he said. He also demanded passing the bill for formation of Kamatapur autonomous council in the budget session of the Legislative Assembly.
