KOKRAJHAR: Kokrajhar police along with 129 Bn CRPF seized contraband (heroin) weighing over 2 kg worth over Rs 9 crore in the international markets from a truck at Srirampur in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Friday.

Addressing media persons in Kokrajhar on Friday, Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Prateek Vijay Thube said that the suspected heroin weighing 2 kg and worth Rs 9 crore was recovered from a secret chamber hidden inside a truck during checking at Srirampur. The truck bearing registration number GJ-01 ET 3067 was on its way to Jodhpur in Rajasthan from Manipur, Senapati. Two persons, identified as Anil Kumar and Bikash Kumar, were arrested. Further investigation is on to unearth the drug network.
