Kolkata-Dhubri Sammilani distributes financial aid to 86 students

Dhubri Chapter of Kolkata and Dhubri Sammilani distributed financial assistance to 86 economically weaker and meritorious students of Dhubri town in a function held here at the Dhubri Hari Sabha premises in the evening of Saturday.

DHUBRI: Dhubri Chapter of Kolkata and Dhubri Sammilani distributed financial assistance to 86 economically weaker and meritorious students of Dhubri town in a function held here at the Dhubri Hari Sabha premises in the evening of Saturday.

Sanmilani started to help out the economically weaker students from 2010-11 with 4 students, and in this year, 2023–24, the figure shot up to 86 meritorious and economically poor students who were given Rs 2,500 each.

The hall of Hari Sabha was packed with participants, consisting of all the recipients, their parents, teachers, headmaster, headmistress, and well-wishers.

In the function, Chairman, Dhubri Municipal Board, Dr. Debomoy Sanyal, a renowned numismatist and writer; Shankar Kumar Bose, a retired academician; Prof. Debasish Bhattacharjee, President, Kolkata Dhubri Sammilani; Prof. Sanat Kumar Saha, a member of the Gauripur Raj family; Probir Coomer Barua, and others shared the dais of the function.

During the occasion, a book, “Sargadopi Gorioshi, Second Edition, written by Shankar Kumar Bose, was released by Probir Coomer Barua. While addressing, all dignitaries hailed the Kolkata-Dhubri Sanmilani for its generous activity of providing financial assistance to meritorious and economically weaker students of Dhubri town.
