DHUBRI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dhubri under Assam Agricultural University celebrated the 95th ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) Foundation and Technology Day in the Haldibari campus in Dhubri district on Sunday.
On the occasion, an exhibition showcasing the promising agricultural technologies that have been released in recent times such as high-yielding stress-tolerant rice varieties, improved varieties of pulses and oilseeds, AWD, soil moisture based irrigation scheduling, technologies related to fishery science, veterinary science, agricultural meteorology, soil science, plant pathology and entomology, new generation agro chemicals like nano urea, nano DAP, seaweed extract, growth regulators, zinc solubilising bacteria, azospirillum, PSB, vermicompost technology, post harvest technology of grains etc., were displayed.
The programme started with the ICAR song. More than 100 farmers and farm women from various parts of the district, four public representatives, government officials, various self-help groups attended the programme. The public representatives and other dignitaries were felicitated by the Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Dhubri, Dr. F.U.A Ahmed. The programme also followed by sapling distribution to all the invitees who attended the technology day.
