Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon conducted a grand harvest programme of Boro paddy using mini combine harvester at farmers field of Jaramari, Dhing under APART

NAGAON: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon conducted a grand harvest programme of Boro paddy using mini combine harvester at farmers field of Jaramari, Dhing under Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) on Wednesday. The programme was initiated with an inaugural speech of principal scientist and Head of KVK, Nagaon, Dr Niranjan Deka.

In his speech, Dr Deka welcomed all the distinguished guests and other participants to this unique harvesting programme and explained about the objective of the programme as well as the benefit of using the mini combine harvester. Dr Rohit Namdeo, consultant, IRRI laid stress on the objectives of the various work done under the APART, IRRI project and the various mechanization introduced through this project and the benefits of using the machineries. The programme was attended by Dr P K Bordoloi, principal scientist, AAU-ZRS Shillongani, Mintu Deka, BPM, Batadraba Block, Nagaon, Gauri Sankar Bordoloi, ADO, Baluchar, Ekbal Hussain, principal, BVJV, Jaramari, Abdul Rashid, Rtd. Headmaster , Phulaguri, ME School, APART Personal of KVK Nagaon. Over 100 local farmers including both male and female representing different blocks of Nagaon district participated in the programme. During the programme, Dr Namdeo as well as Priyanka Deka, project associate, APART explained about the handling and demonstration of the machine too. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Baharul Islam.
