DONKAMUKAM: Karbi Students' Association (KSA) Hamren District Committee led by advisor Semson Engti and president Ramsing Tokbi decided on Wednesday to submit a memorandum to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Tuliram Ronghang regarding State Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's 'irresponsible' comment that non-tribals could sell and buy land in BTAD. He had allegedly said this during an election meeting held recently.

"BTAD is a Sixth Schedule area and his statement will have a huge impact in KarbiAnglong too," the KSA leaders said. They also expressed surprise at the KAAC CEM's silence over Sarma's comment. KSA activists earlier burnt Sarma's effigy in front of the ARO office, Donkamukam on Wednesday.
