Kuki Students' Organisation condemns attack on Umrangso woman

The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) condemned the recent crime against Nunsiami Nampui of New Sangbar Village, Umrangso.

HAFLONG: The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) condemned the recent crime against Nunsiami Nampui of New Sangbar Village, Umrangso.

According to a press release signed by Lalhaothang Haolal, president, and David S Changsan, the general secretary stated that Nampui was abducted from her home on May 20 by some miscreants from Bangphiri Village on the accusation of her being a witch. She was subjected to torture and was injured subsequently, due to which she is undergoing medical treatment. The KSO believes that this crime must be dealt with in an exemplary manner so that such illogical acts are discouraged. Showing sympathy to the victim and her family, the KSO called out for stringent legal action against the perpetrators. An FIR has already been filed to the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned Umrangso Police station on 24/05/2021. Meanwhile, Umrangso Police has arrested six persons from Bangphiri in this connection.
