HAFLONG: The Kuki Students’ Organization, (KSO) Assam has expressed grief at the the news of the gruesome death of Lalneivah Lenthang at the hands of her worker, Shankar Thapa of Haflong Civil Hospital area under Haflong Police Station on August 8.
Condemning such a horrific act, KSO Assam, in a press release signed by president Lalhaothang Haolaoi and general secretary David S. Changsan, urged the authorities concerned to ensure that the human rights of the deceased are respected with a thorough and just investigation into the matter, and proper punishment to the perpetrator. KSO Assam also requested all sections of the society to desist from giving the incident a communal colour and instead, to work together to ensure that such incidents never occur again. KSO Assam also offered condolence to the family of the deceased.
