Lai khuta of golden jubilee celebration of Lakhimpur Commerce College erected

LAKHIMPUR: The lai khuta of the upcoming golden jubilee celebrations of Lakhimpur Commerce College was erected on Tuesday. The installation ceremony took place at the playground of North Lakhimpur Government Higher Secondary School in front of the college in the presence of the teachers, staff, students, alumni and neighbours in the presence of Dr Mukunda Rajbanshi, president of the golden jubilee organizing committee, and Dr Muhidhar Pujari, president of the governing body of the college.

The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee of Lakhimpur Commerce College will be held on November 2, November 3 and November 4. On the first day, Union Minister of State for Education Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will participate in a national symposium on the new education policy. Apart from the discussion, which will be attended by the Vice-Chancellors of several universities in the Northeast, tributes will be paid to all those who have contributed in various ways to the progress of Lakhimpur Commerce College.

The second day of the programme will have an alumni meet. In the evening, popular artiste Nahid Afrin and veteran artiste Mahendra Hazarika will participate in a cultural programme. On the third and final day of the programme, a cultural procession will be taken out which will be inaugurated by local MLA Manav Deka. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will be the chief guest at the open session in the afternoon. In the evening, a bhaona performance by the teachers, staff and alumni of the college will be held.
