LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science (LCVSc) celebrated its foundation day on Saturday in a befitting manner.
The agenda of the event started with the unfurling of college flag and Assam Agricultural University flag by associate dean Dr Uma Ram Tamuli. It was followed by smriti tarpan programme, conducted by Dr Chandan Phukan, the retired VO. Dr Jatin Talukdar, retired VO, inaugurated a massive plantation drive organized on the occasion. The open session was graced by retired-cum-founder associate dean Dr CK Rajkonwar.
In the programme, the third volume of the college magazine, Abhyuday was inaugurated. A cultural rally was undertaken in North Lakhimpur Town showcasing the diversity of the students, various aspects of veterinary education. The cultural event organized in the evening was attended by Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu.
On the other hand, the alumni meet of the college was organized on Sunday, the agenda of which began with smriti tarpan programme and unfurling of batch-wise flags. Retired Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, Dr KM Bujarbaruah graced the occasion as chief guest while Vice-Chancellor Madhavdev University Dr Dibakar Ch Deka and AAU Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science BN.Saikia were present as guest of honour.
Then a special visit was conducted to the old campus of the LCVSc, located at Azad. It was followed by an interactive session among the alumni. In the evening, a cultural function was held.
