A CORRESPONDENT
LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur Commerce College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with North Eastern Yougasan Training & Physical Care Centre, North Lakhimpur to promote yoga as a practice for healthier life and to introduce yoga therapy to cure various ailments.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of Lakhimpur Commerce College with Indreswar Borah, founder secretary of the North Eastern Yougasan Training & Physical Care Centre in presence of faculty members and Internal Assurance Quality Cell (IAQC) office bearers at the Principal's chamber.
A brief meeting was held on this occasion in which Principal Dr Hazarika spoke about the objective of introducing yoga practices and yoga therapy at the college for the holistic development of the students and teaching community. Indreswar Borah, who is a veteran yoga practitioner, also briefed about the courses to enable students and teachers to increase their skills and knowledge in the theory and practice of personal care through yoga. He said that several courses from therapy to yoga would be there to help enrich the course undertakers into a better and enhanced individual.
The MoU singing ceremony was attended by Vice-Principal Gopal Kumar Chetry, faculty members Tilak Chandra Deka, Padmeswar Dihingiya, Achyut Gogoi, Dr. Biva Dutta and IQAC Coordinator Dr Dadul Rajkonwar.
