Lakhimpur DC Dr. Jeevan B tests COVID-19 positive, tally spikes to 6,240

LAKHIMPUR: Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur, Dr. Jeevan B tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. Along with him, his wife and the cook were also detected positive for COVID-19 through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on the same day.

As per report found from the District Health Department, the DC along with his wife and the cook had been suffering from fever since three days. The DC got himself tested through RAT, result of which came positive for coronavirus infection. Then his wife and the cook also tested positive for coronavirus.

Notably, the DC was found negative for COVID-19 as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test result reported around three days ago. Prior to this, though the DC got himself tested for COVID-19 several times and he had tested negative.

On the other hand, a total of 152 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the district on Monday. All of them were found positive for coronavirus infection through RAT while no patient in the district was reported positive for the infection as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test result on Monday.

Notably, a total of 106 COVID-19 patients were detected in the district on last two days. Out of them, 82 patients were found positive on Saturday, while 24 patients were detected on Sunday. With these newly-detected patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases in the district spiked to 6240 on Monday. Out of them, 4,476 patients have been discharged while 1,772 are active cases. They are under treatment at District COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital (86), Laluk COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Laluk Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur CCC at Narayanpur Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur Poly-technique CCC (102), Boginadi CCC at Boginadi Model Hospital (50), Naoboicha College CCC (180) and North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital (80) while the remaining patients are in home isolation.
