Lakhimpur district administration all set to conduct exam

LAKHIMPUR:  Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) will conduct the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE-Mains) from July 8 to July 10 across the State. The examination will be held in the zones- including Silchar, Jorhat, Nagaon, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Bongaigaon and Guwahati.

The Commission has already released a separate notification regarding the selection of zones for the convenience of candidates. In this connection, the Commission has also released a notice regarding the combined competitive (mains) examination schedule and admit card update on its official website. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, including forenoon and afternoon. The forenoon session will be held from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm while the afternoon session will be conducted from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

The examination in Lakhimpur district will be held at the centre set up at North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous). Lakhimpur district administration has already completed its preparations to hold the examination in a free, fair and transparent environment. In this connection, a meeting under chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Utpal Borah was held at his office in the presence of the authorities concerned of the North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) and other persons involved in the holding of the examination.

A total of 581candidates will appear in the examination at the centre. Principal of the college, Dr Biman Chandra Chetia, and Vice-Principal (Academic) Bani Kanta Konwar respectively have been given the responsibility of Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor of the examination centre. They informed that required arrangements were already made in the college to conduct the examination without any problem. The Police Department of the district has beefed up the security system, they added. As many as 30 invigilators have been engaged to hold the examination.
