Lakhimpur MASS demands to CM Sonowal to resolve various problems

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) once again demanded Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to resolve a number of crucial problems of the district. In this connection, the organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister who visited the district on Friday.

In the memorandum, countersigned by adviser RajuSingha, chairperson Sumo Dutta and secretary Ibrahim Ali, the organization raised demands to construct the Lakhimpur-Ghunasuti connecting bridge immediately as per his promise made during the official celebration of Ali A:yeLi:gang festival held at Ghunasuti, to manage rehabilitation of 76 families living under ward no. 14, who became homeless due to an eviction drive initiated on September 30, 2019.

The organization further demanded the Chief Minister to compensate and rehabilitate the Subansiri erosion-affected families, to implement sanitation scheme, to construct cattle shelter at Shilikhaguri, to construct the Shilikhaguri-Gohaintekela connecting bridge over Somdiri, to establish sluice gate at Bhimpora embankment, to install electrical cremation system at Lakhimpur public cremation ground, to install flash light at North Lakhimpur Government HS School and to stop eviction of street vendors in the State.
