Lakhimpur teachers staged three-hour-long dharna

LAKHIMPUR: The members of the Uttar Lakhimpur Mohkuma Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani staged three-hour-long dharna in Lakhimpur on Saturday in support of their manifold demands.

Notably, the Akhil Bharatiya Sikshak Sangha and the Asom Rajyik Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani have declared a series of agitation programs from November 30 to February 27 of the next year demanding resolution their various nationwide and State-wide demands. As part of these programs, the Uttar Lakhimpur Mohkuma Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani initiated the stir across the subdivision.

The North Lakhimpur urban unit of the organization protested in front of the Lakhimpur District Inspector of Schools’ office. In the program, Uttar Lakhimpur Mohkuma Prathamik Sikshak Sanmilani president Rajen Phukan, general secretary Deba Borah, urban unit president, and a secretary took part along with all teachers of 18 schools under the urban unit. Similarly, the Lakhimpur, Naoboicha, Bihpuriya and Narayanpur Block units of the organization staged the stir at the respective Block Education offices. The Dhakuakhana subdivisional body and the urban and block units under the subdivisional body also initiated the same agitation programme across the subdivision on Saturday.
