Lakhimpur turns COVID-19 patient-free district

LAKHIMPUR: At last Lakhimpur has turned into a COVID-19 patient-free district with the detection of no fresh patients for past couple of days.

Notably, the first COVID-19 patient of the district was detected on April 4 of last year and he was an attendee of the Tablighi Jamat congregation held in New Delhi in the later part of the month of March. Since then, the district witnessed a total of 8,051 COVID-19 patients till January 31 while 7,992 recovered patients were discharged from the hospitals and home quarantined. The last COVID-19 patient of the district was detected on January 18 and he remained active till January 30. He was discharged from home quarantine on January 31.

Though Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) had been conducted on over 2,000 people of the district since January 19 to January 30, no COVID-19 infected person was detected within the period. Similarly, RAT had been conducted on a total of 1,025 people in the district since January 31 till day, out of which also no COVID-19 patient was detected. A total of 59 patients in the district met with death due to COVID-19 infection. In the district, the COVID-19 patients were treated at District COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital (86), Laluk COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Laluk Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur CCC at Narayanpur Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur Poly-technique CCC (102), Boginadi CCC at Boginadi Model Hospital (50), Naoboicha College CCC (180) and North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital (80).
