KALAIGAON: Lakshmi Puja was observed in different villages of Kalaigaon area on Friday evening with religious fervour. People worshipped the goddess of wealth and sought her blessings. People believe that on the night of Lakshmi Puja, Goddess Lakshmi visits every home to give her blessing. If she finds any house in darkness, she goes back without showering her blessing. Hence, devotees decorate and light up their houses and the women do not leave their houses empty during this special night. The women usually read the Lakshmi Pachali throughout the night to appease the Goddess
