Large number of picnickers throng Bagamati in Baksa district

People from various parts of cities and villages of Assam were excited to welcome the new year.

BAKSA: People from various parts of cities and villages of Assam were excited to welcome the new year. At one of the familiar tourist spots, Bagamati along the Indo-Bhutan border of Baksa district, a large number of picnic parties from different parts of the State have been seen. On Sunday, Bagamati was crowded with picnikers.

Lakhs of people reached Bagamati this morning, breaking the record of different locations. The natural scenery of the Bagamati attracts picnickers and tourists alike. Here people can enjoy white water rafting, jeep safari and many adventure sports. Bagamati has now gained a unique place in the State's tourist sector after gaining fame as Switzerland of Assam. A Buddhist monastery on a high hill is set to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Apart from this, a Bathou religious worship place built by the present Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker, Biswajit Daimary in 2019 has become an attractive place for tourists. Herds of wild elephants, peacocks, other migratory birds and wild pigs are seen in Bagamati.
