Lecture on narcotic substances delivered by Dr. Sachin Parab of Mumbai

The third lecture of the ongoing Golden Jubilee Lecture Series of Lakhimpur Commerce College was held on Friday. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sachin Parab of Mumbai on quitting of narcotic substances and drinking habit.

LAKHIMPUR: The third lecture of the ongoing Golden Jubilee Lecture Series of Lakhimpur Commerce College was held on Friday. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sachin Parab of Mumbai on quitting of narcotic substances and drinking habit. The lecture event was organized by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the college in active participation of Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwaria Vishyavidyalaya, North Lakhimpur as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) undertaken by Government of India.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of Lakhimpur Commerce College. In his inaugural address, Dr. Hazarika said that the college had been organizing lectures on various important topics to mark its golden jubilee programme which would culminate in September this year.

The objective of the meeting was explained by advocate Dijen Borah, a member of Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwaria Vishyavidyalaya, North Lakhimpur. Dr. Sachin Parab, in his lecture explained the ways and means of avoiding addiction of drinking and substance abuse. He also interacted with the students and teachers in the programme. Dr. Parab also took an oath against drinking and drugs abuse among the people present in the programme. A number of students and teachers from different colleges and schools participated in the programme. Professor Dipul Baruah, Convener of Anti Narcotics Cell of Lakhimpur Commerce College delivered a short speech on the de-addiction and delivered vote of thanks.
