Leopard captured, later released at Betioni Kakoti Gaon under Golaghat district

A leopard that had been creating terror at Betioni Kakoti Gaon under Golaghat district, was captured by the forest officials with the help of local people on Sunday morning.

GOLAGHAT: A leopard that had been creating terror at Betioni Kakoti Gaon under Golaghat district, was captured by the forest officials with the help of local people on Sunday morning.

According to the report, the leopard had been creating terror in the region and the people in the area were living in fear. Local people reported the matter to the forest department and the forest officials put a cage in the area and finally on Sunday morning the leopard was caged.

Local people gathered in large numbers to see the captured leopard. Later, the forest officials took the leopard to the Nambor Reserve Forest and released it. Notably, earlier 14 leopards were caged in the same area and were released in Nambor Forest. Local people said that several leopards lived in the village area.
