GOLAGHAT: A leopard that had been creating terror at Thuramukh area near Nambor Wild Life Sanctuary under Golaghat Forest division was killed by villagers on Sunday afternoon.
According report, a leopard from the wild life sanctuary came into a residential area and attacked a goat in the village. Seeing the attack, a person namely Suraj Boraik came to the rescue of the goat following which he was attacked. After this another person namely Bitu Bhumij was also attacked by the leopard. The villagers came out in large numbers with sticks, dao and jathi and killed the animal. Later two forest officials arrived at the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
