DIBRUGARH: The Dihing Welfare Society on Monday sent a letter to President Draupadi Murmu condemning the heinous crime on women in Manipur and West Bengal.

“We the citizens of India would like to draw your kind attention towards the heinous crime that has taken place in Manipur and West Bengal where women have to lose their dignity in front of some anti-social elements that had shocked our peace-loving nation,” the letter stated. It further added, “That being an Indian is always a proud feeling for us as India is a multi-religion country with different tribes residing peacefully along with. As the political parties are playing blame games among themselves over this heinous crime it is very much painful for the victim as well as for our nation.”

“It is time to give them healing touch over their pain but due to the blame game, we are only reminding them of the painful incident that can only be healed by our country’s people,” Dihing Welfare Society stated in the letter.

It further added, “India is only a country in this world where goddesses are being worshipped and in this country, if a woman has to lose her dignity it is very much shameful for our country that too by our own countrymen. We would like to condemn the above mentioned crime and request you to kindly do the needful from your end so as peace could be restored in our country.”
