LAKHIMPUR: The people the greater Lilabari area have been suffering a lot due to the deplorable condition of the Lilabari Airport-Chinatolia Tea Estate connecting road for a long time.
The dilapidated condition of the road has affected the students of the area much more than the other people of North Lakhimpur town. The road is the only way of communication for the people of the larger area to shift their patients to North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. Under such circumstances, the patients have been experiencing a lot of inconveniences while being shifted to the hospital.
The communication through the road becomes quite impossible during the rainy days. It is alleged that the Lakhimpur district PWD has paid no attention to repair the 6-km long road year after year despite consecutive prayers and petitions demanding the same. Re-initiating such an attempt, the people of the area submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer of the Lakhimpur PWD on Tuesday. They demanded the officer concerned to take appropriate initiatives in no time to repair the deplorable road for the greater interest.
