Local trains to start plying soon: Rangia Divisional Railway Manager

RANGIA: All Guwahati and Murkongselek bound local trains will start plying soon. As soon as the State Government will allow trains to run after the COVID situation improves, local trains and some more trains will start running. This was stated by VA Malegaokar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Rangia, at a press meet held at the DRM's conference hall.

Sanjib Ghosh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) and chief commercial Inspector Hrishikesh Deka were also present in the press meet. The proposed 48-km new railway line between Abhayapuri and Gauripur in Dhubri district has been completed and will be ready to operate as soon as the CRS (Commissioner of Railway Safety) inspection is over within the next month, Malegaokar assured.

Electric mail and express train will run regularly up to Kamakhya Junction whenever the electrification upto Kamakhya Junction is complete. But goods carrying electric train are running up to Changsari almost daily, he added.

DRM Malegaokar also said that Rangia Railway Division has made arrangements to unload food grains from the goods trains in different railway stations in Rangia Division.
