Dibrugarh: Many locals of the town are having a hard time with respect to managing their waste as the person designated for door-to-door collection of waste did not show up for the past many days. What seems to be a direct consequence of the recent dissolution of the Dibrugarh Municipal Board, the problem has now snowballed into an eyesore with heaps of garbage becoming a common sight across many neighbourhoods.
Talking to The Sentinel, Sofia Begum, a housewife of the Panchali area said, “That person used to be regular otherwise. I am aware that DMB has been dissolved but there has to be a plan on standby. Every day we have the refuse collected and kept in a bin but to no avail. I appeal to the district administration to look into the matter and solve it.”
