GUWAHATI: Lovlina Borgohain, who brought laurels to the country by winning a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is the brand ambassador for the education department of Assam.

The announcement was made by education minister Ranoj Pegu on Sunday.

Education Minister Pegu said the education sector of Assam will witness growth with Lovlina being the brand ambassador for the department.

Expressing his happiness, Pegu said women and girls across the state get the motivation about educating themselves as Lovlina, who has become an immensely inspiring figure, has been made the education department's brand ambassador and thereby becoming the face of the education sector of the state.

Lovlina, who hails from Golaghat district's Baromukhiya village, is a three time world champion Bronze medallist. She is the only Indian Pugilist that succeeded to bring an Olympic medal for the country in Summer Olympics 2020.

For her grand achivement at the Olympic games, Lovlina was gifted a luxury vehicle (Renault-Kiger) by a company last month. She received the vehicle in an event in Guwahati.

On being asked how she felt about receiving the vehicle and her Olympic dream, Lovlina said, "Yes, my dream and my nation's dream are important for me. I will have to work very hard to fulfill this dream. This is my first car and I am happy about it."

Lovlina informed that she had no other plans and had come to Guwahati to just receive the vehicle. "I have no other program here and I will now go home in the new car," said the young boxer joyfully.
