Maheswar Bora memorial meeting held in Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: The Maheswar Bora memorial meeting was held at Madhupur village of Jamugurihat on November 14. Maheswar Bora was a noted scholar of Sankari Sanskriti of Jamugurihat who died on October 26 last year. To commemorate his first death anniversary, his journalist son Joon Bora organized a series of competitions among children in association with Madhupur Mahila Gaon Unnayan Samiti of Madhupur, Jamugurihat.

The day-long programme began with a performance of borgeet by Rinkimoni Bora. Attending the meeting as an appointed speaker, Ratan Rajbanshi, secretary of Sonitpur district Moina Parijat, delivered a motivational speech for children. He recalled the contributions of Bora and appealed to the gathering to follow the footsteps of Maheswar Bora in preserving and inculcating Sankari Sanskriti.

The meeting was also attended by Phaninra Baruah, president of Naduar Press Club, journalist Rajmoni Bhuyan, PremKanta Saikia, Chintamoni Hazarika, Sailen Bora along with others.
