A man, hailing from Charaideo in Assam, have been showered with love and praises by the people for having planted over ten thousand trees in this district.

Anup Mohan, in an effort to make his district more aesthetically pleasing, vibrant, and beautiful, has planted over ten thousand flowering trees in the last two years.

In the last two years, Mohan has been planting trees after trees in the area, mostly planting Sunaru (also known as golden shower tree) and Krishnachura (also known as Royal poinciana).

"I want to transform this district into a picturesque sight this year by planting over 30,000 flowering trees like Sunaru, Kanchan and Krishnachura," Mohan said.

The outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Charaideo Palash Ranjan Gharphalia honored Mohan on May 18 for his love of nature, passion, and progressive thought.

"I am not doing anything big. I am just planting saplings the way everyone does it. The only difference is that we have been raising these plants like our own babies," Mohan added.

On August 15, 2015, then-Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi carved Charaideo district out of Sivasagar district and formally proclaimed it a new district.

The effort by the young man towards such a humble yet crucial cause should be applauded and the message of loving nature should be spread so that people get inspired by such noble deeds.

In today's era where people are slowly drifting away from nature by turning a blind eye towards the gifts it has to offer, Anup Mohan stands as an example symbolizing love and respect for mother nature, the lost love that needs to be reclaimed. His noble deed will not only add to the aesthetic beauty in his area but will also bring life to the place that cannot be found in the middle of concrete structures. For someone wise once said, "when you nurture nature, nature will nurture you."
