Man kills 10-month-old son, injures wife in Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: Mukesh Gorh, a resident of Dekorai TE, was arrested by a team of Itakhola outpost headed by Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia, officer in-charge of Itakhola outpost, on the charge of killing his son Chamar Gorh (10 months) on Friday.

According to information, Mukesh Gorh killed his 10- month old son and caused serious injury to his wife Ranjana Chawra due to family conflict on Thursday morning and escaped from the accident site. Severely injured Ranjana Chawra was immediately taken to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. A team of Itakhola out post managed to arrest Mukesh Gorh from line no 8 of Dekorai TE on Friday.

Mukesh Gorh had a quarrel with his wife Ranjana who later left her husband's house and moved to the house of her father located at line no 16 of Dekorai TE, few days back. Mukesh Gorh visited the house of his father-in-law and had a quarrel with his wife again. In a fit of rage, he attacked his wife and his son with a sharp weapon. The infant died on the spot while his wife sustained serious injury and is undergoing treatment.
